The Page 7 is reader-supported and minimally instrumented. We collect what we need to run the service — your email address when you sign up, your subscription status if you pay, and basic site analytics. We don't sell your data, we don't run political ads on this site, and we don't serve third-party tracking pixels.

When you create an account, we collect the email address and password you provide. Passwords are stored hashed and salted; we cannot read them.

When you sign up for a newsletter or county alert without creating an account, we collect only your email address.

If you subscribe to Pro, our payment processor (Stripe) collects payment information. We never see or store your card details. We receive a customer ID and subscription status from Stripe so we can grant the right access.

When you visit the site, we collect minimal analytics — page views, referrer, country, and device type. We do not use Google Analytics or any tracking pixels that follow you across the web.

Email addresses are used to send you the alerts or newsletters you signed up for, account-related notifications (password resets, billing receipts), and occasional product updates. You can opt out of product updates at any time and continue receiving the alerts you subscribed to.

Payment information is used solely to process your subscription via Stripe.

Analytics are used to understand which counties and topics readers care about so we can improve the product.

We don't sell or rent your personal data. We don't share email addresses with advertisers, marketers, or third parties for their own purposes. We don't use your reading patterns to build a profile and resell it. We don't respond to government data requests except where required by valid legal process.

You can access, update, or delete your account at any time from your account page, or by emailing hello@thepage7.com. We will delete your account within 7 days of your request, except where we are legally required to retain certain billing records.

Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, and other states with consumer privacy laws have additional rights including the right to opt out of any data sharing and the right to know what personal information we hold. Email us at the address above to exercise these rights.

We use cookies for session management (keeping you signed in) and basic analytics. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.

The Page 7 is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.

We'll update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be communicated via email to subscribers and posted at the top of this page.
